This Image's Creation Story:
Indian Peaks Wilderness - A rough approach to the gentle slopes of Niwot Mountain included gale force winds, a dead headlamp, and goggles that were iced completely over. Upon reaching the treeline, and virtually blind, I dug a shallow snow cave to protect myself from the crazy wind for a time. After traversing to the east side of the mountain, I was rewarded with a calming of the wind and a glorious sunrise. Fog shrouded the Front Range and the grey citizens beneath. This moment was made even more special because of the difficulty I had in my approach.
